Kate middleton

Kate middleton has not always been perfect in terms of fashion. She was girlie, sometimes tasteless and too daring. But her love to William has changed her. She understood that if she hadn’t changed both internally and externally she would never be his wife, and the Queen of England. She had to embrace new type of behavior and new style, more appropriate for the status she aspired to. Gone is denim she used to wear too often, flashy outfits for rollerblading, too sheer and short dresses, the new Kate is elegant, stylish and chic. And we know whose style she uses for inspiration (and she is absolutely right as this is the road to success!) – Princess Diana’s, the woman who always knew how to look smart.

Now, let’s discuss a few Kate Middleton’s looks that reminded us about Diana’s incredible fashion sense.

I think these looks are VERY similar. Princess Diana wore this red jacket and a black hat on Christmas Day in 1993. Kate opted for the resembling outfit for the Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst Military Academy in December 2006.

Kate Middleton has developed great love to hats and some of those look pretty alike with Diana’s hats. For instance, this feathered hat Kate wore at the wedding of Laura Parker-Bowles in June 2006 bears strong resemblance with Diana’s John Boyd headwear.

Sundresses – both polka dot and red but worn to different occasions. While Diana went for this look to shine at the premiere of the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only in Leicester Square, Kate rocked the dress at a June 2006 Chakravarty Polo Match, in Surrey.

Blue is a flattering color for both Princess Diana and Kate Middleton. These two gowns clearly show it. Diana attended a charity dinner at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1996, and Kate Middleton appeared at the Boodles Boxing Ball at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, June 2006.

Royal family likes spending holidays in Switzerland enjoying the snow and skiing. In 1986, Diana went to the place and wore a bright red skiing costume. Kate Middleton chose the same color when she accompanied the royals on a vacation in 2005.

Of course there are other examples which can be just cases of co-incidence or cases demonstrating Kate Middleton’s desire to try on Princess Diana’s look. No matter what it is, we don’t blame Kate for copying Diana’s style. It’s good she’s learning. And she’s been wise to choose William’s mother as the icon. However, she shouldn’t stay just a copier forever, one day she has to step out of Diana’s shade and show her own style that is unique and perfect.
