Burberry Prorsum Spring/ Summer 2011 collection was all about traditional biker jackets, trench coats and super-short silk dresses. Actually the theme wasn’t new at all, it was just re-invention of original Burberry values.
When Thomas Burberry designed his first jacket for motorbike riders in the early 1900’s he couldn’t know that since then on this item would be featured in every Burberry Prorsum collection, season after season. Now with Christopher Bailey leading the British brand the biker jacket is still important. Iteration is good and if you always come with new ideas to add it becomes even better.
The designer said:
We can translate everything so many times and it always feels different, depending on the mood of the moment.”
Another truly iconic Burberry piece is a trench coat that for Spring/ Summer 2011 became much shorter but no less stylish. Made of python leather and richly studded the trenches look more than great, they look fantastic! But with those innovations the trench is now for even younger generation that ever.
Burberry Prorsum Spring/ Summer 2011 range isn’t very bright that is typical to the chic label. However, with colors mostly greenish and black the collection doesn’t look boring at all. While clothing isn’t very vivid the accessories are attention-grabbing. Light blue and pink belts, lettuce green and purple bags added the color the outfits lacked.
